Escutcheon Love BTW

My latest obsession!

Since I'm obsessed I really need to learn how to spell Escutcheon without having to look it up every time!

es·cutch·eon noun \is-ˈkə-chən\

Definition of ESCUTCHEON

1: a defined area on which armorial bearings are displayed and which usually consists of a shield

2: a protective or ornamental plate or flange (as around a keyhole)

3: the part of a ship's stern on which the name is displayed

I'm making molds of all these wonderful ornamental Vintage Key Holes and making them in to Copper Components.

One of my favorites almost cleaned and ready to fire.

I'll share the results once they are all fired.
I still have alot of pieces to make to fill up my kiln so it will probably be at least a week.

I Heart Macro - Flower in Mexico

I don't know what this flower is but it was so cute
I immediately knew I wanted to use it for this weeks Macro shot.
It was in a container outside a store we passed
while walking the shops in the Marina in Puerto Vallarta.
The one and only shot I took of it so I'm happy it turned out.

As always join my friends and see what Macro Magic they have for you this week at Studio Waterstone!

My blog was on Vacation last week

So I decided to take a vacation too!
One week in sunny Puerto Vallarta!
This was one of the highlights of my trip!

That's not me in the photo but I was right there,
being swarmed by dozens of Pelicans.
It was so much fun!

Of course having so many Pelicans so close I got alot of pictures.

Last year I had an awesome Pelican Experience,
completely different than this year.
Click HERE to see last years photos.

And of course with this many Peli's flying around

Some of them land on nearby rooftops!

In case you couldn't tell, I think Pelicans are amazing!!

I'll probably share more pictures from our Vacation over the next few weeks.
I hope you enjoyed my Pelican Palooza!

PS I've added this post to the World Bird Wednesday blog,

BTW - Silver!!!

I had a special order for some silver components,
I've actually had people asking about silver for some time.

So when I got a specific order I decided it was time.
I'm firing a full load tonight when I get home from work,
they are all finished and ready for the pressure cooker lol!

Many out there may not know what Silver PMC looks like before it's fired, now you do!!
It's quite a change from the dark copper I am used to working with
but I had fun breaking open a package of Silver, I hope you like what I chose to make.

Look for them to be listed in my shop over the next day or so!

It never ceases to amaze me that once fired this will be pure Silver!!!

I Heart Macro - I Heart Moss

And I Heart Lichen, I guess it's a good thing I live in the Pacific NW cause we got lots of it!

These little tendrils have the cutest little tips of orangy red, I love the color!!

Here's some moss for you!

These are not very good shots because the moss is inside a crevice,
but I think you can see why I chose to include it. So cute!

Here's Ginger bathing in the sun, we haven't had enough sun to do this in several months!

Here's mama Shasta, having too much fun guarding the property to lay in the sun!
